Issue type: Compliment

I just have to respond to this post as I too have had very positive experiences with Bunnings in Bayswater and have posted here about it previously.
I will not hear a bad word said about Bunnings, they are great with customer service and returns. Usually, you can return a faulty product without having to give them a long explanation or feel that you are under interrogation.
Good on you Bunnings. icon_biggrin.gif

My compliment goes to Bunnings not GMC as you may have guessed - I probably should have put the heading the other way around.

Just over a year ago, I purchased a GMC electric lawn mower from Bunnings, Canterbury Road, Bayswater (Vic). All was well until today when I started to cut my small section of grass at the back of the house - the bottom of the mower literally fell off. It's the part that has the blades attached and it had completely shattered off the centre spindle.

I realised that perhaps I was in trouble even though the mower had a 2 year warranty as I'd read on NGE that this company had gone into liquidation. After checking their website which was still on the net, and finding a local agent on that website, I went to the agent which was a 2 minute drive away only to find they knew nothing of being listed as a repairer for GMC.

Next, I phoned the 1300 number listed by GMC for service enquiries only to find it was disconnected. icon_mad.gif

My last hope was Bunnings so I rang and spoke to the garden department and he said to bring the mower back with my receipt and he'd organise a full refund for me. I thought that after a year, they wouldn't have anything to do with this item so I was surprised and very happy at the response I got. I got my refund and proceeded to the mower aisle where I bought another electric mower - a Flymo this time which I know has been on the market for years and I'm sure it'll be more than capable of cutting the small patch of grass I have.
