I had a similar experience with a Krups machine, having it replaced 4 times over a 2.5 year period. The retailer (The Good Guys), the extended warranty people (Horizon) and the repairer (Bravo Coffee) all thought that it was acceptable to keep on repairing/replacing my machine for the period of the extended warranty (5 years, all up). I didn't agree. I thought it didn't take my time into consideration. So, I went back to the retailer and demanded my money back, both for the machine and the extended warranty that I purchased with it. They gave it to me. It wasn't easy; I just insisted.
Give the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT) a call. They should be able to help. You might have to lodge a complaint with their tribunal but I'm pretty sure you'll get the matter sorted out.
If you have had your machine fixed five times either it is a lemon (they should give you a new one) or the machines are not of merchantable quality and fit for sale (see the Trade Practices Act).
Hope this helps. |

Please remember, you are talking about a machine, law of averages are, a certain few will cause some sort of issue, and you every now and then will find a machine that will cause you grief. You have done the right thing & covered your investment with extended warranty, it surprises me that Saeco let the repairs go on for so long however, after manufacture warranty, your extended warranty should cover any further mechanical or electrical faults with the machine to a point & if the claims become excessive extended warranty do need to make a decision to continue to repair or offer you a store voucher or similar. You might like to check that out with your extended warranty insurer. I have found the repair of automatic coffee machines, no matter what manufacturer, to be very complex & quite frustrating having been involved in the industry for a short period of time. If it helps, as with any purchase of any machine, make sure you are extremely familiar with maintenance procedures & follow them religiously to ensure a good lifespan of the machine. |

We purchased a Saeco Coffee Machine there top of the range one it has spent more time in being repaired than it has at home. It can not sit on the bench we need to keep it on the sink because it is allways leaking. IT's first leak damaged it's display and had to be replace. It's second leak damaged it's memory and had to be repaired. It's third lead split a house and needed repairing. Then it's steamer and milk jug failed needing to be repaired. It now just fails every time it despense the coffee. Saeco have been very unhelpful in Brisbane they just send you to there custmer helpline who are very unhelpful you can not speak to anyone you get a message to leave your name and number they call you back 3-4 hours later and are then more unhelpful because your not at home with your broken down coffee maker so they tell you to ring back and you get answer service once again. It is now going in on Monday for its 5th repair. So I just wanted to warn people if your looking at Saeco do yourself a favor and buy a diffrent brand.
