Having a high frequency hearing loss, I finally invested in hearing aids. I learned that Australian prices are over the top compared to US prices. Think 2X to 3X. We did some research and joined Costco for this item alone.

Costco supplies a good range of name and house branded products from fairly basic to high end, and for about half or less the cost asked by local audiologists. Costco also delivered good service, well experienced and qualified specialists, has satisfaction guarantees, and in my experience did very well. The only negative being they are busy (for a reason) and it can be some weeks to get booked in.

Everything at Costco is not brilliant, and many prices and ranges can be hit or miss, but audiology seems a stand out worth looking at for those in need, and by itself is worth the price of membership.

I am wondering if Costco would provide customised service to the following extent? I recently purchased Siemens BTE hearing aids from a local hearing aid centre - Started with a 3mth free trial but that was extended to 8mths free trial while audiologist sorted out the problem of the earpieces/moulds not staying in my ears. Seems I have a lot of movement in my ear canals which kept pushing the earpieces/moulds out. The audiologist persevered and took several impressions of ear canals.
Turns out I trialled over 6 sets of custom made ear moulds from Siemens before eventually ending up with a full helix (I think it is) that stayed in my ear canal. This was all included in the price - albeit yes I paid the highly inflated Aust price.

Bottom line is yes, they do provide full service to get it right.

I cannot state about extending the 90 days return period as it never came up. Being a multinational, maybe or maybe not. My opinion is that if you do not know if it is going to be a "buy" at 90 days there are other issues beyond the trial period itself.

One has to wonder why your audiologist would take over 6 tries though. I had problems with the cones/molds for the same reason you did and had 2 follow-up custom mold remakes, all included. I ended up with a canal-lock. There was absolutely no hesitation by Costco to get it right, and to get it right with the best cosmetics possible. They made it clear if the 3rd molds were not right, they would do it again and again if necessary.

Getting it right fairly quickly reflects, to me, good competence or at least experience with "difficult ears". Not that "more than 6" is not competence, only a challenge, and some of us have difficult ear canals, for sure.

Thanks for your further info computerflyer. Canal-locks were of no use to me, hence the further progressions. Is my first set of hearing aids, so all a learning curve. Good to know Costco would have persevered to get it right. Will remember that for the future, although hoping that will be a long time off now.
