Firstly apologies for the Chrstmas Newsletter being sent out 2-months late. Not acceptable but it was also not intended. We decided not to send the newsletter at Christmas but distribute the list of best and worst performers for 2013. Unfortunately a hic-up at our host caused the site to go down during the week and the queued up Xmas letter was sent inadvertantly.
Now for the update on on the year ahead in 2014.
NGE is about to turn 12 years old.
We believe in giving consumers a voice and we have kept NGE loud and strong. We now have 78,000 members and a couple of hundred corporates that listen to us.
For over 10 years, our owners have had to cover the costs of running this site, in recent times since 2012, you the members have contributed generously to help keep the site up.
We want NGE to celebrate its 21st birthday in style and understand from feedback we receive that we are falling well off the pace.
To keep up and become relevant again we need investment. This will be something that management will try to facilitiate in 2014. If you know of any angels out there please point them to us at [email protected].
For us to stay around for a long time we know we need to invest and build on some of the great ideas that have been sent in. These are some of the things on our hit list:
1. Launch the NGE iPhone and Android app for instant consumer ratings on the go - adding Mobility to the site
2. A refresh of the database and presentation layers to make the home page, in particular, a more visual User engaging experience
3. An aggregation capability on consumer experiences in real-time that delivers notifications across social media platforms
