Post subject: Sold the wrong cartridge after having been a regular for 3 y
Organisation name: Cartridge World
Issue type: Complaint

3weeks ago I visited Noosa Cartridge World to buy my regular colour ink refills for an EpsonCX 6500. I have been a regular user buying c.12 different colour refills every year.Cost each c.$15. My customer history is on their data base. The guys who used to work inthe shop were always friendly and pleasant. On this occasion the guy in the shop looked me up on the computer, and sold me a blue, yellow and cerise cartridge. I only neede to replace the blue one on the Friday and had difficulty in putting the cartridge in,however it went in and a message came on the printer-"cyan ink" not reading. I returned the offending unit to the shop, and the lady gave me another one suggesting the chip in the first one may not have been reset!! Same problem so we rang and the lady in the shop eventually replaced with an Epson original cartridge.Epson will not deal with Cartridge World in Australia so this "original"is a parallel imported one! Printer still not reading the cartridge chip!1 I rang Epson who told me to take to their accrdited service agent 40 minutes away. Cost to loo at every printer is min.$50 and for this you get a purge and clean nas well as a diagnosis. When told I had the wrong cartridge I advised Caretrige World franchise in Noosa that I expected them to pay the service call+$30 fuel+replace all cartridges. They are only willing to replace the 3 wrong units and do not any longer want to speak to me.H Q. in adelaide will not let me speak to anyone and have a girl who has accepted my emails and stated'We do not speak to customers"! What a way to treat an exloyal customer who has been severely inconvenienced by a simple human error. Cartridge World may invoke "caveat emptor" and suggest I check the cartrige #'s before I put them in but I used to trust their sales persons but obviusly the new owner of the Noosa store believes he can handle customer issues in an adversorial way.

I am very familiar with Epson printers and Cartridge World. I do not work for the company nor own any stores. The truth is that the cartridge does have to be reset with a chip resetter. Blame Epson on this as they put it there to discourage refills. Sometimes the reset does not work.
Second of all, Cartridge World buys its cartridges from cartridge wholesalers who sell every brand and type of printer consumable. These cartridge wholesalers are the ones who buy from Epson dealers. If you received a cartridge in an unopened box, and it was an official Epson cartridge, then that is what it is.
Most likely the little chip reader in your printer simply stopped reading the chip. That is not the fault of Cartridge World who tried twice to rectify the problem.

Asking for a refund of petrol PLUS the service charge PLUS three new cartridges is really pushing your luck I think. Most printer manufacturers will not even look at you if you use a non genuine cartridge. I think the Noosa dealer did the right thing and maybe your printer needs looking at.

I have a Canon and the chip reset does not always work on mine either and I find my printer shows the cartridges as permanently empty. I only know the cartridge is empty when the printed picture is missing a colour.
