Post subject: OPERATION FAILED
Organisation name: TELSTRA WIRELESS DATA
Issue type: Complaint

eusa_wall.gif icon_evil.gif On numerous occassions I have rung telstra to seek resolution to my problem with my phone. it continuously responds "operation failed" when i try to download a game or when installing applications downloaded from pc. They say that the technicans have tried calling me but I told them that I didnt receive no call!! they gave me free credit as re-imbursement but thats not good enough!! I want to be able to use my phone as I intended!

Hey there,
It sucks that you've received poor service from Telstra, but with a bit of luck you'll receive a resolution through a tiny bit of work yourself perhaps with the assistance of the manufacturer of the phone.

What precise model of telephone is it?

EG.
Not just "Sony"
Not just "Sony Ericsson"
Not just "Sony Ericsson walkman phone"
but the full "Sony Ericsson W880i" or whatever it really is (just using my phone as the example because it's convenient for me).

Even without knowing that, I'd be willing to wager it's a software glitch with the phone that could be fixed through a software upgrade or modification.
With that knowledge I reckon I or someone else should be able to come up with a workable fix for you.

Of course it all depends exactly what the phone is and how good the after-market support for the phone is from the manufacturer concerned.

If you're particularly unlucky it'll be from a brand not so good with after-market support and it will be a proprietary model made specifically for Telstra with basically no support from anyone.

Hopefully not however. :)
