Post subject: Missing wine and lukewarm response.
Organisation name: Grays Online Auctions
Issue type: Complaint

I recently bought 2 cartons of Aldridge Estate wine from Graysonline, who I have never had problems with after buying several things over the last 3yrs.
I had also ordered 6 cartons of Salisbury which arrived in unopened boxes but one of the 2 Aldriges was heavily taped up and suspiciously light. I checked it and had only had 8 bottles in it, not 12 as the sale invoice said it contained. I contacted Graysonline by phone and told them, I was glad they didn't call me a liar or anything, as there was no proof the wine was not there. The customer care guy said they would arrange a refund for the missing, I said no thanks give me 4 bottles of wine, it would cost them a lot more than a refund, as the wine was $14/carton +15% buyers premium, a princely sum of $16.10. So to compensate me it was just $5.36.

I said originally what about the freight, which was $26 per carton, but they ignored that, which is $8.66 I paid for but was underpacked. It's all over now, they reimbursed me $5.36 to my credit card but nothing for the freight. I haven't read their rules, so it was probably what they do, but it's pretty poor in my books, I reckon they should have spent big and sent me 4 bottles of any red wine. I won't be buying anymore wine from them (unless it's cheap icon_lol.gif )
