Lying and Thieving does not constitute good service

We booked a group lunch for about a dozen at
Shogun Japanese Restaurant Canberra City
Prior to confirming our booking, we checked that the Teppenyaki (which mentioned vegetables) would be suitable for a vegetarian. We were told that it would.

We got to the lunch, again notified them that there was a vegetarian in the group and they assured us that that was ok and vegetables were included.

Then we noticed that there was plenty of meat, but no vegetables anywhere. We asked what vegetables were going to be served at the Teppenyaki - bean shoots and cabbage.

We explained (again) that we had a vegetarian in the group and asked what they could do. They offered to give us vegetable tempura.

OK - fine so far.

When we went to pay, they charged for the Tempura and the Teppenyaki, even though they took the 'extra' serve of Teppenyaki away as they were dishing it up, so it's not like the rest of the group had the chance to eat it.

The organiser did not want to make a scene and they were not at all apologetic or interested in helping.

The food might be nice, but it is Customer Service that ensures repeat business.

i consider their actions to be lying and then stealing and I am not impressed.
