Post subject: Parents beware: Habbo Hotel out to get kids hooked
Organisation name: Habbo Hotel
Issue type: Complaint

My 14yr old son is hooked on the internet game Habbo, but I didn't realised how addicted he was until I received my mobile account. He had been buying habbo furniture to design his hotel room on my phone, each time costing $3. Apparently you have to be at least 16 to buy Habbo, yet he can easily purchase vouchers in shops without proof of age.
Habbo know that they're onto a money winner here!
Is this the forerunner of more addictive adult behaviour?
Consequently, we've now blocked Habbo from his computer and placed passwords on our profiles. It's a shame that it's come to this, but I'm glad we discovered this before my phone bill was too high.
So mums and dads, just be aware of what your kids are doing on the internet. Habbo is not as innocent as it appears. eusa_naughty.gif
