Never buy custom made

in October of '08 I ordered outside blinds for my verandah as it gets all the afternoon sun. A sales rep came out and measured my varandah as I needed 5 blinds to fit between the posts. I asked relevant questions as to what the blinds could do and explained what I wanted from them. I paid $3000 for blinds which finally arrived in mid January and to add insult to injury DID NOT FIT. they were measured wrong and when I complained to Spotlight Bendigo they sent out the same rep who told me "You chose the blinds" and it was my fault. Yes I chose them - on her advice as I asked specific questions as to what I wanted, but she either lied to me to get the sale or did not know her job well enough.
I would warn anyone NOT to buy custom made blinds from Spotlight as they will say anything to get the sale. $3000 for badly fitting blinds which we had to install ourselves - NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

Was the $3000.00 the full amount, and did you pay it all up front? If the answer is yes, then WHY?? and if they didn't fit, why couldn't they take it back and re do them, because that's what they would have had to do should you held the money until the job's done.
