I see ACA are down to their usual standards. Tracy Grimshaw used to be my favourite interviewer. She always asked the questions I myself would ask.
But tonight's interview with Matthew Johns was unworthy. Her frustration at not getting the reaction she personally wanted was palpable.
Like Ray Martin before her...how the mighty have fallen. |

ACA is woeful, one sided dramatics designed to provoke a desired audience reaction.
The only time I see ACA is when the truth of their biased productions are reported on Media Watch |

You must realise that the Matthew Johns segment on ACA was as a direct result of the Four Corners airing of rugby league players' treatment of women, which in itself was a very unbalanced view of the whole situation.
Four Corners brought up an incident in New Zealand that happened seven years ago and was resolved. As a result, Johns has lost two sources of livelihood, as a football commentator on various Channel 9 shows, and as a coaching consultant with the Melbourne Storm.
It will be interesting to see if ABC's Media Watch will even broach the subject of Matthew Johns or prefer to remain silent. |

Yes of course I am aware of the current story. My complaint lies with Ms Grimshaw's less than professional interview.
I imagine many eyes will be on Media Watch. |

The only reason that no charges were proceeded with were that all the Cronulla players closed ranks and would not spill the beans on each other.
I feel Matthew Johns has a lot to answer for. Whilst I agree that the girl went to the room with Matthew Johns and another person and consented to sex with them, and up to this stage, whilst I have a moral problem with him cheating on his wife, that is between him and he wife, however when the other players entered the room and started having sex with the girl, Matthew who was a 30 year old man should have said to this others, "Guys this is not right you werent invited leave the room". If he did that no problem.
Imagine how intimidated the girl would have been with all these other guys she did not expect entering the room and having sex with her.
The argument that she could have left the room does not hold water with me, because the whole situation would have been very intimidating for her, and lets face it, at that stage the guys would have had only one thing on their mind.
All you parents out there let me know how you would feel if your daughter was caught in that situation. She agreed to go to a room with 2 guys (as a parent this would also worry me), but she did not agree to go to a room in which 10 guys came into it. |

Thank you, TLM. I couldn't have said it better myself. If only more people could see the situation the same way as you but unfortunately I think most people see it the way vp1959 does... |

"Matthew who was a 30 year old man should have said to this others, "Guys this is not right you werent invited leave the room"."
But they were probably invited.
"All you parents out there let me know how you would feel if your daughter was caught in that situation."
I have 2 grown up daughters. I would probably get vilently sick if this happened to one of my daughters. However, I hope, in fact I know, that my daughters have more brain than to go to a room with one of those guys, let alone two.
Before anybody has a go at me for saying this, I agree that what those guys did was totally wrong, legally and morally and they should be punished for it. Therefore, I don't feel sorry for Matthew for losing has livelihood. Serves him right. It should happen to more of those idiots. |

Shandy why are you asking me if group sex is illegal? what have I said to invite that question?
To answer it anyway, I don't know and I don't care. If it is illegal, apparently many people are breaking the law. |

I'll tell you:
"Before anybody has a go at me for saying this, I agree that what those guys did was totally wrong, legally and morally and they should be punished for it."
But what the hey, just another misinformed opinion into the whole mix. |

Matthew Johns deserves what he gets, pig of a man
Why is it that the focus drifts from the victim to the perpetrator?
Last weeks footy show had Johns making a statement at the start of the show & Fatty Vaughin patting him on the back saying "Well said" as Johns describes how its caused him & his family enormous anguish & embarrassment etc...
Last night Phil Gould cried on the Footy Show for 'his mates personal well-being'
Everytime I hear Johns - it is always how this has affected him & his family & he apologises for the hurt it has caused them....
Hullooooo - what about the victim |

the victim is Johns!! the young woman is NOT a victim, she had fun having sex with a bunch of rugby players and then bragged about it, Johns only needs to answer to his wife (which he did) and it's no one else business who one sleeps with, where was she for the last 7 years? what a lot of crap this is, does anyone cares who I sleep with and how many at the time? the way it goes on against johns you might think that sex is a dirty word something yuck that no one should take part in, SHE WAS A WILLING PARTICIPANT. |

She agreed to go back to the room with 2 men not the others.
She is the victim, Johns is not a victim you twit, he's just a moron (s'pose he could blame drugz and say he was not in control of his actions) ...
But thats not just my opinion, Ch 9 & the footy club have ditched him.
Wrong again shandy |
