Sorry if i post this in the wrong place, please advise if i have.
I am looking for the best scrap metal merchant in adelaide. Or atleast the most honest one. I have just had a run in with denron metals in SA. I took 4.5kgs of copper for recycling but was paid for 3kgs, when i queried him he spouted a bunch of crap about his scales were checked by the government 2 weeks ago. I took it up with his boss who told me to approach him again, and when i did he became abusive and began throwing and kicking scrap metal around at me. He then tried to demand his money back and return the copper to me, which i made hime weigh, now only 1kg. I laughed at him and rang his boss again, who agreed his behaviour was unacceptable and also paid me for the extra 1.5kgs.
The consumer watchdog will be visiting them shortly and i just hope they cop a fine. I have a further 10 tons of scrap which they will never see if im likely to loose 25% of the amount.
Im hoping some one out there can put me on to an honest scrap metal merchant and not another "bikie" organisation who thinks they can intimidate and lie and cheat theyre customers.
My advice to anyone would be to stay well away from denron metals at all costs. Your only hurting your hip pocket if you dont.
