Obviously Blue Haven has been busy urging satisfied clients or even family members to post here. This does Blue Haven no favours.

Notebooker you signed with BH on 4/01 and hope that kids will be swimming in the pool before they go to school. Good luck. I did some tiling before Christmas around a pool that BH built. They promised to have the pebblecrete and water in before Christmas. Guess what happened? BH would not even answer their phone and when they did they promised and didn't deliver. They finished the job about a week ago. The fact that the owner had 2 parties (engagement and birthday) at the house at Christmas did not make any difference to BH. They were well aware of both parties.

Pharaoh, perhaps you should read carefully people's gripes before claiming that BH are much cheaper than others. How many pools have you had built and how many quotes did you get for each?

As I said, this sounds a bit sus and doesn't help BH

Like most corporate Companies we understand the need for constant improvement and to excel in customer service.

If our customers are not happy, we are not happy.

Blue Haven builds the majority of pools in NSW, which means you are more likely to hear about us than any other pool builder.

However our ratio of happy customers far outweighs the unhappy ones.

This website, along with honest customer feedback, is a valuable tool in allowing us to identify any problem areas of the business or any repeated weaknesses.

A new generation of team leaders have released an improved CUSTOMER SERVICE POLICY and PERSONALISED CONSTRUCTION PROGRAME.

This includes the option of a FIXED PRICE contract elimiating any grey areas.

This also includes a FIXED TIME contract elimiating any time delays.

We abide 100% by the contract, so our biggest request to the public is to ensure all items discussed at point of sale are written into the contract. This allows no room for error or he say / she say.

Our workmanship is excellent and we still offer the best value for money in the pool industry.

I implore any customer to contact me, the Executive Manager, directly for any issue they have for any reason in an endeavour to resolve mutually.

BH is a volume pool builder with an international name, and the name is the subject of similar complaints in the USA. For example there are consumer affairs web sites, better business bureau web sites, and others, and all have echos of local gripes.

I do not know the relationship between BH USA and BH Australia, if any, and their web site does not make that clear.

Some local names are subsidiaries, some licensed, and some have no affiliation at all.

Historically some Aussie companies have essentially hijacked successful foreign business names that were not properly registered in Australia (and not at all suggesting the locals were not up front businesses because of that alone).

Yes that is true to Kadee , but I think to myself why would people waste time & it is human nature to vent it out. I believe that people should be complimented when needed & that is true with business. I own a business , and yes it is hard to keep customers happy , but I ensure that I am compliant , which costs me money & at times to get the job done on time I loose money. I believe some of these people who have written this stuff, I just hope companies learn a very valuable lesson that you should give what you promise. I just believe that if BH changed their contracts , told people what may happen with extra costs, they could be a good builder, they have built many pools, and yes this is a handful of complaints which may out weight the ratio of pools built. I cant say much about the building process as we did not go down that line, how ever what I have seen from other quotes & BH left a nasty taste in my mouth, the other companies , and I dont know who is better than who to be honest with you , but they seemed just a little more professional, and to know their stuff, maybe it was a good sales person I dont know. but thats just my view.

Fake complaints have the same ring as fake compliments. Not saying which is which but...my radar is definately up.

I am just SOOOOOOOOOO glad that this website & the internet is around , we were going to take the deal with BH, I felt sick knowing that I was going to do that - sign on the dotted line , guess why , $20,000 cheaper- however , look at the contract folk, my gosh. How can a contact like that be legal?
It is an investment of a life time - adding value to your home, I am not sure who to go with as yet, but it wont be BH.

They tell you the lot , I have to move plumbing and pipes , I was told , truly my friend are you a fool ?

kadee, I simply googled Blue Haven complaints to see if there were other people in the same position I was in and found this thread. I think that because so many people were promised pools for summer, it stands to reason there'd be a lot of complaint activity about now.

I feel fortunate enough that after months of arguing with Blue Haven I at least have a pool I can swim in, but I have had 3 or 4 neighbours ask if I would recommend them and I have told them all no. Now that I have found this forum I am even more glad to have steered them in another direction.

I'd like to know how all these disgruntled Blue Haven customers have found their way to notgoodenough. Are you coming from another forum?

Seems a little odd to me that there is an occasional spate of you who post once and disappear.

Just sayin...

Blue Haven another day another misleading issue to deal with. I was told when we signed on Aug 29th, 09 that we would be swimming by December 12th. I was told as this wasn't written in the contract then they are working on the contract time. They still won't confirm the finish date.
They paid for our safety fence only after I asked them as it is a legal requirement then why wasn't included in the original contract. They sell contracts that can't legally go ahead.
Watch every step of what they do. The installed our 3rd step in the wrong location. They tried to resell us an extra 4 square meters that we had already paid for. They also try and tell you that they don't include the electrical work. Again selling you a product that won't work.
Get the pool builder to put everything in writing. Check to make sure that they have supplied the contractors with what you ordered.
They now say I delayed the install of the pool as i raised issues with them. I just hope we are swimming by Dec 2010.

This is what jaspertd said, they're cheap until you sign the contract and then the extras start coming in.

I would love to know what area all these complaints are coming from. I have got a quote from BH Newcastle and it is around $10k cheaper than all the others. I see trouble brewing, i just cant see how they can be so much cheaper, unless like everyone else here we get stung for 'unforeseen' costs, but the wife thinks that these complaints are small in number compared to to total of pools built by BH and we should be right if we agree on a water tight icon_lol.gif contract.
