Extremely long wait for x-ray & u/s

I had been having a terrible ache and pain down my left arm, so after going to E/R and them being unable to find a problem I attended a local clinic with the letter from the hospital. The Dr. decided that I needed an x-ray and u/s of my left arm and duly wrote out a referral to the above named group. Presumably they are in partnership or get some kind of kickback for referrals. After phoning the nearest location to me I was told that the soonest I could attend would be 4 WEEKS!!! WTF I then proceeded to phone another 3 locations, by then I was willing to travel anywhere to have it done. Again 4 weeks minimum. Dont forget I AM PAYING FOR THIS. This is absolutely disgusting. As it turned out I didnt need to go for it. I re-presented at the hospital e/r again about 2 days later still with the pain. Turns out I had suffered a HEART ATTACK!!
The local doctor failed to even read the signs. Thanks a lot Symbion Imaging.

Jeepers that is worrying. Hope all will turn out better than the original service did.

The clinics you tried were booked out and while frustrating it simply means there are other people booked ahead of you. You have no way to know if your situation is more urgent than theirs. I can't see that they did anything wrong.

I'd be more concerned about the doctor missing the signs and not booking you into the hospital to have the tests/treatments there.
