Money Stolen from Parcel

Today I received a parcel by mail from a relative in Germany. It contained gifts for my family and a birthday card for myself. The parcel had been opened and resealed by Australian Customs and the obligatory notification sticker attached. All gift items were intact and accounted for.

My relative had also included a birthday card, which she had placed in a sealed envelope, with AUD $50.00 in cash. The envelope had been sliced open and, lo and behold, the money was missing. She has been doing this for years without there ever being any issue until now. Naturally, when I opened the card I was suspicious and phoned her to confirm that she had included a small cash gift.

When I made this discovery today it was already too late to go the post office to lodge a complaint. So I am just venting here, because I am quite annoyed about this. Tomorrow I will be trudging down there to sort this out.
