This only applies to Telstra mobile users who want to use their mobile phones overseas for data downloads/uploads and save a fortune on international roaming charges. According to the docs it does not apply to calls/sms/mms only data (internet/emails etc)

Only reason I am posting this is that I have a current unresolved issue with Telstra over a whopping Iphone mobile international data roaming bill, and Telstra rep advised me next time to purchase an International roaming Pack!...

NOTE - dont listen to Telstra if they say you will be charged international roaming rates - make sure you ask for the international roaming data packs!

$29 for $150 worth of data/$160 for $900 worth of data!

Here is where to find it for those who want proof: Dont ring up and apply for international roaming - do it over the internet:

1. Go to Telstra website
2. On the main blue line up the top, click on "mobile"
3. on the left hand side menu, scroll down and click on "international roaming"
4.Click on the "Get Connected" then click the "apply now" button.
5. A page should come up "ACTIVATE INTERNATIONAL ROAMING"
6. RIght down the bottom click on "Customer Terms"
7. On the next page, open the doc either in word or pdf and then scroll all the way to the end of page 15 in Clause 5.5 - there it is

If you want to use your mobile overseas to access the net, emails then I believe these packs will save you a fortune...I would check with Telstra first and again dont be swayed if they say international roaming rates, make sure you ask for the data packs..

I dont believe there are any sign up fees and you can start it and cancel it any time you like.

Just wanted to pass it on and hope the message gets out as I believe Telstra does its best to direct you to all the other International ROaming Guides which do not mention the data packs at all...
