Very disappointed with Flight Centre (FC), they had advertised flights to Vietnam, one FC centre said that was unavailable and my partner went to another FC less than 10kms away and was able to book this flight; then booked our 1st 3 nights accomodation at what was meant to be a discounted rate, to come home that night and find it was over $130 dearer than the motel's undiscounted rate (cheaper still on expedia.com). When we challenged this, the FC customer service centre had an attitute of "bad luck". Bad information, poor customer service and bad move FC, we will be telling everyone.

This is pretty standard with Flight Centre, they take all your details, you agree on price, they decide they havent charged enough commission or the agent hasnt actually bothered to book your requirements, so then they realise the prices have shot up, but they wont cover it, or even lower their commission, its the travellers problem... if you dont pay you dont travel.

Use the internet everyone, even for package holiday bookings, there are so many sites now... i just found one called 'travelsupermarket' think its uk based but they do lot of package tours. Also, even going direct to the airline websites 'sometimes' is cheaper... rarely, but sometimes... but really, do yourself a favour, just google something like online holiday booking or onling flights

Whatever you do... dont use Flight centre, if you have to use an agent, get multiple quotes then check against an online site.

I too suggest people do there homework before booking with Flight Center. We to were lied to time and time again.FLIGHT CENTER I told you the internet has large following and the word spreads pretty fast.Fix up my problems and I will go away.I am a Vietnam veteran and I never give up. I have had harder fights then this in my life and I am not going to lay down and let you tread all over myself and partner.Instead of investigating yourself flight center and finding that the customer is always wrong do the right thing .You and your staff are ruled by the mighty dollar.
Flight center asked for another $750 for accommodation even though all our accommodation was paid up. They were not going to give us our tickets unless it was paid we did this under sufferance. The y also wanted another $1900 for an airfare that had already been paid for.We refuse to pay this now that person is not going and flight Center will not refund her money.
This is a long story but the money was then sent back to us.There are pages and pages to this story. It has been the booking from Hell.Funny thing Flight Center have never said they had done anything wrong it was us,maybe they are right we booked with them. They are nothing but liars.Pity help anyone who does book with them I wish you all the best.
I intend to post this on every website I can to warn people on there tactics.Remember Flight Center once again there are 50,000 or more Vietnam Veterans out there and word spreads so fast in that circle, also remember that there are a lot of serving members that book to go on over seas holidays.

As many eventually discover simple trips are easy to do on-line, but multi-stops much less so. Most web sites don't let you pick and chose every flight, but come back with a "package" fare with specific flights you might not want. Most on-line agents are take it or leave it; some let you stitch flights together; Webjet allows you to call them immediately after you have purchased a packaged itinerary and change flights - if you are unhappy with the additional costs at that time, you can cancel.

I recently looked at an itinerary to the USA and the first shot was $16,424 for something that should have been around $1,800, if the point is made. I changed one airport and it dropped to $1,600! Caveat Emptor and have fun. icon_lol.gif

Escape Travel is Flight Centre just under another brand, as is Student Flights... they are all the same the agent will look at the wholesale cost for the flights then add as much on as they can think they will get away with, ie if you go in looking like you have cash you will pay a lot.

Always book your flights and accommodation online as then there is chance to shop around, also they wont bump the price up... its one price for all no matter what online side you use... just google something like cheap flights from australia and you will get a massive number of online sites to choose from.

I have recently had a very bad experience with Scecic Tours on their Heart of Egypt trip in Novemebr 09. Our travel agent is Escape Travel and they have been wonderfull in supporting us on our return.

I can highly recommend Escape Travel, they really went out of there way to help, this is what a travel agent should do if there are probelms and you want to use them again. Sadly, Scenic Tours didn't take a leaf out of there books.

I urge everyone to avoid the Flight Centre. The FC failed to notify my parents of a tour hotel change, leaving them stranded in New York City without a booking on college graduation weekend. The store where the booking was made did not have a manager so we were forced to deal with inept staff.
Book holidays online - it's far cheaper.

My experience with Flight Centre was quite positive at this point. They beat an online quote for us. When the airline changes their schedule, I requested a flight due to their change and without charge. I guess you shouldn't book with flight centre or any travel agent if you are not 100% certain of your travel schedule unless they do not charge a change fee.

Why do people still book with Flightcentre!! they are shonky... I used to book all my flights and holidays through Flightcentre until once when i had to move a flight, they charged a $500 fee on top of the airline change fee of $50... so since that date i have never used them and i travel a lot, also i tell anyone i can about how bad they are as i dont want anyone else to be ripped of like i was!
The internet is where you should be booking your flights and holidays, they dont charge any extra fees on top, ie. Expedia or, or even zuji... no need to ever go into a travel agent ever again!

eusa_naughty.gif I have just been shafted by the inexperience of a travel consultant who was greedy and had no concideration for clients. Briefly it has cost an additional $700 because a lie was told to hold on to a booking after if a method of payment was agreed to then denied after a cruital cut off time had expired for an air fare deal. I was told that not much can be done as i have decided to book with another Agency. However when told that a large client that i am associated with will be lost due to this they demanded to know who that client was so thay could asses a possible compensation deal ( in other words bugger the small bloke ). I have yet to hear from a complaint consultant and i do not expect to either as the consultant was very negative without knowing who and how much they are likely to lose. well good luck to them they will lose something in the order of $40,000 to 50,000 a year in business.
