I used QCAT (Qld equivalent) - I printed the forms (complaint form to commence court action) from the website then filled in the blanks.. Then I just went to the local court house and lodged them, paid the $50.
The court staff prepared the papers to be served on the company whilst I waited (took about 15 mins)
I served the documents myself at their office a few days later - I served them on the first employee to speak with me, he pooped his pants and ran off to get the manager and left the documents on the counter - when the manager fronted I picked them back up and gave them to him.
He chased me up the street saying I had to take the documents back icon_lol.gif for numerous woeful reasons.
I kept walking & finally said "All theses reasons you have stated, they can form the basis of your defense - see you in court"

He stated in court that we were 1 of 1000 people on a list whom had paid & were awaiting solar units. An order was made that they deliver & install within 14 days. Had we not have taken this action we may have been waiting another 1-2 years icon_rolleyes.gif

Interesting your result Thing. I had a call from Consumer Affairs and the women I spoke to was quite interested and helpful. She discussed regaining my deposit and having another company do the installation, but I had already looked into that and found no company would guarrantee my installation by the expirey of my grant. Did you go through the VCAT system and if you did, who did you issue process on, the Manager??? If next week goes by without contact, thats exactly what I will be doing.

We dealt with another solar co. had similar issues as everyone else. We did however have a contract with a date for installation. When this date passed we made numerous attempts to contact them, the few times we were successful we were told to wait. 6 promised dates for delivery passed & we were told to wait again & again.
So we took them to court for breach of contract & 2 weeks later it was installed.
We did all the court business ourselves, total cost was $50 (which the co. had to pay us back) so if you have a contract with an installation date that has passed perhaps consider court.

I again started the barrage of call attempts to Solar services and finally got a call back today. It was from a girl called Jessica who claimed she had not received my call previously but had the same name and sounded familiar. I am GUARANTEED to be installed next week on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. I asked for the installers phone number but she said she cant give me that. I have lodged a complaint to Consumer Affairs in regards to contract overload based on Govt rebate work. It looks as though the Solar rebate will have issues like the insulation debarkle. If it goes in next week, Ill let you know. If not, I am driving down there personally.

I have read below and have found similar comments to what I have encountered with State Solar Services. I have paid the deposit for a 1.5 kx system back in January and was told if I upgrade I will get it within a month. I had previously wanted the the 1 kw system with the Govt rebate which covered that. I am still waiting and have had three book in dates which have passed without notification. I even took annual leave to be around at the time of installation which has now gone to waste. I too ring them without luck. Even have the managers mobile which is ignored. It is my proposal to lodge a complaint to Consumer Affairs. They are making false promises for deals and then just string customers along. I have recorded my conversations with the sales person and if I take it through CA, then they will face fines for misleading time frames. I too have had enough of their lies and fail to respond. icon_evil.gif

I filled in an application form of which this company took $700 out of my wife's credit card for the exact same system, a 2.04KW. This application was submitted on the 17th November 2009.

Today is the 8th of April 2010 and I am still waiting for them to get back to me.

There is no customer service what so ever. Every time you attempt to ring them, you can only get through to their sales division by pressing "1" on the phone and actually speak to some one. Apart from that, it just goes to voice mail.

I have made numerous attempts to contact these people via email and voice, my wife and I keep getting a lot of mixed comments to confuse us even more as to what the hell is going on.

The contract that we signed stipulates that Solar State Services and the agreed party (us) has up to 9 months, after of which either party can cancel the agreement. Until then, there is nothing... I reckon this is a load of bullocks.

The mixed responses was that someone will get back to us in terms of an installation date.... I'm still here and waiting and absolutely nothing has occurred, not even a courtesy phone call or email.
