Ran the scan again the other day. Still nothing on HD except ABC and SBS.

I've noticed that the powers that be say 2013 for regional WA to be able to tune in to HD channels. Can't rush these things.

While you may well only have the 2 HD stations, even the TV must run through a scan process to pick up new stations.

Whether inbuilt tuner, set-top box, PVR, whatever, they work the same way.

I don't have an HD box. I have an HD TV. SBS and ABC TV are the only channels I can get that are HD.

I nearly fell off my chair the other day when I happened to accidentally put the TV on to digital and found we have digital reception of ABC and SBS. Not that this is any good. How long do us third-class regional WA viewers have to wait until we can receive the same channels as city dwellers?

Does anyone know why HD TV is not available in regional areas? I've heard that HD does not have to be made available to regional areas under current regulations. Again those in charge of these things plainly don't give a rat's about people outside capital cities. I live about 1200km from Perth and we have WIN (which I might add is pathetic), GWN, ABC and SBS. Given the speed at which things to do with television broadcasting progress in this country (example: Freeview), the analog TV signal will be switched off before HD is available here.
